Your study location matters a lot, whether you are going on an exchange semester or for a course that is 3 years or more. Know about the climate and geography beforehand. A Google search will show you the local temperature extremes and weather conditions. Pack accordingly! You might also want a backpack to help you walk around with ease.

Besides knowing about the weather, you should also carry wall sockets! Yes, you heard it right. Following this tip will help make your transition easier. Different regions have varying types of wall sockets. The right plug-adapter will come in handy and allow you to charge your phone, laptop, and other essentials easily in your new home or hostel.

You might want to stay nearer to your classes or the library. If you’re a gym rat, staying near your university or college’s wellness/sports centre might be more suitable for you. It all depends on the places you plan on frequently visiting.

Explore the Local Culture

Studying abroad is a great opportunity to seep in the local culture and cuisine. You get to experience the world from a different set of eyes and norms. Keep in mind the museums, gardens, restaurants, art galleries, andtheatres near your location and get a feel for the local people.

Apart from that, you can also explore some other parts of the country. As the Chinese proverb says, “Don’t listen to what they say, go see.”
